See where your money goes vs. the national average
A free cash flow calculator that reads your statements for you. Upload checking, savings, and debt statements and get your monthly income, spending, debt payments, and what's left — with every spending area compared to a typical U.S. household. Then press play and Cash AI™ explains it.
Most budgeting apps tell you what you spent. The Cash Flow Report tells you whether that's a lot — by putting each spending area next to the national average as a share of take-home pay.

The nine spending areas and the U.S. average

Press play. Cash AI™ explains your numbers.
Reading a page of percentages is one thing. Hearing what they mean is another. Cash AI writes a short script from your totals — what stands out against the national average, what's going well, and one simple next step — and reads it to you in about a minute while you scroll.
Only your totals and percentages reach the AI that writes the report — never your statements, names, or account details — and the audio isn't stored.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a cash flow calculator?
Yes — think of the Cash Flow Report as a free cash flow calculator that fills itself in. Instead of typing your income and every bill into a form, you upload your statements and it works out monthly income, spending by area, debt payments, what's left over, and cash on hand, then compares each spending area to the U.S. national average.
What is the Cash Flow Report?
The Cash Flow Report is a one-page picture of your money for a month: income in, spending out, debt payments, and what is left over, plus cash on hand across your checking and savings accounts. It is built from the statements you upload — checking, savings, credit cards, and loans — so it reflects what actually happened, not what you think happened. Every spending area is then shown as a share of your take-home pay next to the U.S. national average.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and no — you do not need an account. On the website, upload your statements to the free debt calculator and the report appears with your results: no sign-up, no app download, no bank login. In the Cash Balancer iOS app the report lives on the Debts tab, and guests can use it without creating an account. There is no premium tier and no ads.
Where do the national averages come from?
Spending averages come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey (2024), the most recent full-year data, divided by take-home pay. The saving rate is the BEA personal saving rate, and the retirement figure is the average employee 401(k) contribution rate from Vanguard's How America Saves. They are reference points for a typical U.S. household, not targets, and not financial advice. We update them when the BLS publishes new figures each December.
Which statements should I upload?
For the full picture, upload them together: your checking statement (that is where your income and most bills show up), your savings statement (for cash on hand and what you put away), and every credit card and loan statement (for debt payments, interest, and where your card spending went). One month is enough to start. A bank statement is never treated as a debt — it becomes an account with income, withdrawals, and an ending balance.
What does Cash AI say in the spoken report?
Press play and Cash AI, the finance coach built into Cash Balancer, talks you through the highlights in about a minute: what stands out against the national average, what is going well, and one simple next step. The script is written from your totals and percentages only — never from your documents — and the audio is not stored. You can scroll through your numbers while it plays.
Are my statements stored?
No. Statements are read once to pull out the numbers and are never saved on our servers. On the website, only the resulting totals are kept against a random session ID so the calculator can show your results; no name, email, or account number is attached to them. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
You can't fix what you can't see. One upload shows where your money goes, how that compares to everyone else, and what to do first — free, with nothing to sign up for.
